The Market

During the day the Market of Dorne is almost always bustling. Colorful stalls filled with wares of all kinds tempt both citizens and travelers. Sharp eyed vendors watch over their carts warily on guard for anyone that would dare steal even a crumb! Nobles and commoners alike line the streets, their senses on fire with the delicious smells and tastes the delicacies of Dorne offer. Bolts of the finest silk flash prisms of bright colors as they are rolled forth for the seamstresses discerning eyes. Spun gold threads catch the light and lure the coins from Noble women's purses for their exceptional needlework. The finest forged weapons lay glittering like jewels on wide planked wooden tables for the men to inspect and purchase. Painted pottery and glass shimmering in the light like the sea, spilling over small tables. Even tiny animals such as vividly colored singing birds in small guild-ed cages beckon to be bargained for. It is on a busy day such as this that Crickett, Paramour to Lord Byron Martell found herself navigating the the streets of the market accompanied by her beloved pet jaguar, a gift from Lord Martell.

Lord Daeron Vaith, Keeper of the Sandship has many duties and responsibilities. His work keeps him very busy but from time to time he indulges himself in a visit to the Market place for reasons other than the security of Dorne and today was one of these occasions.  He moved at a leisurely pace enjoying the festive mood the Market offered. In no time he met familiar faces and in between waves of recognition the pleasantries of conversation were exchanged.

Later on in the day both Lord Vaith and Ser Dalt are on hand to escort the Queen for a visit. In full regal dress both men look very handsome. Is it any wonder the women of Westeros are drawn to Dornish men?

The beautiful Queen of Dorne stops to talk with both citizens and visitors to Dorne. Always well guarded the Queen enjoys the occasional visit to the Market as well.

As the sun sets, the Queen and Lord Vaith depart to return to their duties. The crowds thin considerably as the mysteries and delights of hunting treasure at the market must be saved for another day. Friends wish each other well as they make their way back to their houses and homes and routines begin again. The Market stands quiet for the moment waiting patiently to begin anew when the sun rises.  When it will once again welcome citizens and visitors of Dorne within the circle of it's colorful tents and stalls.
