Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Doctors Without Borders, is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. The Spoonful Of Sugar Festival has won awards, and we have grown to be well known and celebrated as an SL Charity event. But none of that comes close to how rewarding just being a part of this event is. In four events we have raised $40,000 USD for MSF/Doctors Without Borders. We are projected to hit $50,000 USD by the end of this year's coming event. To say we are proud is beyond understatement. This truly is a festival. It is a celebration of a global-wide response to humanity that evidently people here in Second Life take very seriously. Many of those in Second Life have made it known that we see the right to physical and mental health care on a global scale, and that we don't take human injustice lightly or miss a chance to help where we can. We anticipate this event will bring 200 of Second Life’s finest designers, entertainers and participants covering six regions. Each new event is full of lovely people, always in a lovely place and we are all so excited about this next one! We want to invite each of you to come be a part of this. Well it's almost time, it's hard to believe but in just three days the "Spoonful of Sugar Festival" (SOS) will be open. It will run from September 16th through October 1st. As you can see from the photos above this event is well organized with careful thought given to every facet of the planning. Spread over four sims there are over a hundred top notch designers bringing you an amazing shopping experience with 100% of the proceeds going to MSF/Doctors Without Borders. ROCK YOUR RACK 2017 September 30, 2017 - October 14, 2017 Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women. 1 in 8 women, and an every increasing percentage of men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival. Models Giving Back is pleased to present Rock Your Rack, an annual fundraising event combining the best of SL Music, Art and Fashion to support the work of breast cancer charities and raise awareness for early detection which is critical to a positive outcome for this devastating disease. This year's event will support the National Breast Cancer Foundation which provides free mammograms, education, support and early detection services to anyone in need.
